Tamil Actress Nayantara Interview

Nayanthara is the epitome of acting, love and friendship. Her talent is unquestionable, a silent learner and is amazingly professional. She has huge talent backed by conscientiousness and hard work. She is an example of the fact that if your heart is in the right place your performance will be fantastic. The actress opens up

How come you’ve been keeping a low profile these days?

I’ve been busy with work. I’m trying to focus more on the films that I’m working, working out the details of my look, my clothes and character.

Do you feel insecure at times?

How can I be insecure when I don’t have time to breathe?Insecurity stems from the kind of person that you are and thank God, I’m a happy person. Two films- one with Venkatesh and the other with Ravi Teja is keeping me busy. My Yogi released last week is doing extremely well at the box office.

Has the film industry made you a tough person?

Yes, to a certain extent. Being an actress is not easy. Everything in show business happens in a flash. If your films do well, everybody is at your doorstep and if a film flops no one bothers to call you up. That’s the way it is and no one can change it. Film industry makes you mature, smart and tough.

Do you feel like giving it up all?

(Laughs) Not now. Time is yet to come when I should think and answer this question. Rigt now, I am enjoying my work. Will you slash your price for a good film? Why not? I have done that in the past and I’ve always said that I want to do good films. Who according to you is hot in the film industry? I don’t have an answer for that. I think everyone is hot in their own way. What happens if stardom vanishes one day? It has to happen one day. I am intelligent enough to think that a heroine career is short lived. I will remain a happy person like what I am now, even if I’m not a star (smiles).

Favourite Food

I like North Indian food. My dad was in the Air Force and so I did my schooling in the North India, maybe that's why I love it. I don't know any cooking but love to experiment in kitchen but most of the time, my mom drives me away. I love spicy food too.

Hobbies

That keeps on changing. Right now, it is listening to good melodious music. I love traveling and seeing new places. I love going for long drives too.

Anger

I am very sensitive person. When things don't go my way I get upset and immediately it shows on my face. Is it anger?

Gossips

Gossip itself means 'fake news'. Tell me one actress who does not have any gossip around her? I think we all love to hear and share gossips about others. Even when I was in college I loved to hear gossips about actresses (smiles) and so it is just a part of this profession. I never had any dream of coming into films. But God had something else in store for me. I want to live the way God guides me and do my work sincerely. Nothing really dithers my spirit.

Biggest supporter

God is my biggest supporter. I am not a fanatic but have a lot of faith and is a God fearing person. All what I am today is due to God

Family

My parents are very friendly with whom I can share anything. My elder brother and family are in Dubai and he is nine years elder to me. I am the pet of my parents but they never pamper m

Nayanthara, the smoldering beauty with sparkling eyes and innocent smile epitomizes the new spirit of South Indian film industry. She is a fighter, indefatigable in spirits and mind. Not only is she ravishingly beautiful and photogenic, she is talented, professional and has the determination to make it to the top.

Today she is bracketed among the top three heroines in south and her rise in the last one year has been phenomenal. No one ever thought that this plain Jane from small town Tiruvalla in the Central Travancore area of Kerala will make it big in the glitzy world of cinema. In fact Diana Kurien was hand picked by veteran director Satyan Anthikkad, rechristened as Nayanthara and cast in "Manasinakkare".

Later she did films with top directors and heroes like Mammootty and Mohanlal and then she made her Tamil debut with "Ayya". But it was the role opposite superstar Rajnikanth in "Chandramukhi" that sky-rocketed her to stardom. Today Nayanthara has an aura around her as she is said to be elusive, inaccessible, does not make public appearances and prefers to do her work silently without being dragged into any controversies. Nayanthara agrees that luck played an important role in her rise to superstardom as she was a part of two blockbusters "Chandramukhi" and "Ghajini" and "Kalvanin Kathali" a hit. In 2006 she had four Tamil releases and was the heroine with maximum number of releases.

In Telugu, Nayan's "Lakshmi" with Venkatesh is the blockbuster of 2006 and her "Boss" with Nagarjuna and "Yogi" with Prabhas are hits. Today, Nayan is a brand by herself and she is one of the few leading ladies in Tamil who commands an opening. Now she wants to be more careful with the films she signs and goes through scripts with a fine comb. Nayan has two films on floors is only focused on her career at the moment and is refusing all the endorsements offers coming her way. The pretty actress says that she does not want to be overexposed.
